Paleta madre
Project
2016—July
This work depicts the possible relationship between the procedures of a painter and a baker. The painter discovers, in the bacteria of his dry recipients as well as in his old cleaning tissues, the origin of a personal color palette. The baker produces his bread from a mother mass or sourdough that gives it a unique flavor and consistency. Both of them seem to be nourishing their practice with almost invisible microorganisms which appear over a slow and silent daily routine. This is shown with a series of paintings, objects and a fictional story which invites the spectator to associate colors, textures, forms and elements of two, at first glance, very different crafts.
