Project
2008—May
This was my first solo exhibition, held in a small gallery called El Garaje. Back then my main purpose was to do an autobiographical exhibition where all the paintings were at the same time images and objects, related to a house. The title was a combination of surrealism, which is a logic that has been present throughout many of my projects, and Realismo mágico, the genre invented by the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez. In this sense, the idea was to understand my creative impulse as a mix of quotidian life with playful and bizarre elements. The project also included 365 paper cranes which marked all the days of the previous year as an act of resistance and poetry.
